Any suggestions?

| wow, it's been so long since i've posted that xanga has changed the way you enter a new blog.
anyway, not a whole lot has been happening lately, so i'm going to
update everyone in individual mini-blog paragraphs, much like american
cheese slices:
dill is doing very well after being pretty sick for a little while.
he's gaining weight and is back to bothering the crap out of papucs.
his ears still stick up straight almost all the time, including sleep.
which, honestly, is kind of strange, but we love it.
let's see...what else...
hajnal and i made another trek to the great smoky national park, which
was lovely. as much as i love the city, being out in open like that
really seems to help me de-stress, and as many times as i have seen the
mountains in my life, i'm still taken back by that first view. i even
got a new song out of the experience. i always leave with the feeling
that someday i'll actually settle in a place that disconnected.
hmm....
oh, and i almost forgot, i got to see the indigo girls for FREE not too
long ago. they had a cd release show at a local independent record shop
and we found out the day before that it was going on. they must not
have advertised it much because i'd say there were only about 150
there, maybe 200 by the end. at any rate, it was my first live indigo
girls experience and i highly enjoyed it.
what about school you ask?
school is going great this year. i've finally figured out what i'm
doing, and let me tell you, that is a wonderful feeling. my lessons
seem stronger, the kids seem to learn more, and i rarely have any true
behavior problems. and if i do, they usually have a folder that follows
them around, if you know what i mean. but without a doubt, chorus is my
favorite part of the week, it doesn't even feel like work. don't get me
wrong, it can be stressful and challenging, but in a good kind of way.
wedding bells?
the wedding planning is moving along in spurts, sometimes slowly,
sometimes quickly, but i'm confident all will come together in the end.
we basically have it all planend out, we just need to tie up some loose
ends. anyone want to buy us a house as a gift? i haven't seen houses on
registries, but that doesn't mean we won't accept one.
take care,
chris
mmm....64 slices of american cheese....

| Everyone, please warmly welcome the newest addition to the Eppley-Tabor family:

His name is Dill (named after Scout and Jem's friend Dill from To Kill a Mockingbird) He's 3-4 months old, very scrappy, and likes to pee on everything. He and Papucs are getting along quite well and even the crating process hasn't been too much of a pain.
Welcome home Dill! | | |
| tonight hajnal, elisa, papucs, and i went down to piedmont park for
their 8th annual 'bark in the park' festival with the atlanta symphony
orchestra. basically, the aso performs a free concert of animal-themed
works in piedmont park (if you've never been there, it's kind of like
the central park of atlanta), and you're encouraged to bring your dogs
along. the view of downtown is great, especially at dusk when the
lights on all the skyscrapers have turned on.
there were easily a few thousand people there, families, young couples,
old couples, groups of friends, etc.. and most had blankets and picnic
dinners and such. it reminded me a lot of seeing the cleveland
orchestra at blossom every summer while i was growing up.
i'm sure i'll end up in a more rural area later in life, but for now, i
love the city. i love the variety of people, i love candler park, i
love midtown, i love the secret wave that scooterists give each other
as we pass by, i love the different cultures, i love that it's rare to
come across an applebee's or a TGIFridays, i love the never ending hum
of atlanta's being.
also, i uploaded another song to myspace. it's called 'every mile' and
is one of many of my latest songs that has more of a "folky" feel to it, or at
least folkier than what you've already heard.
please, download and give it a listen.

take care,
chris
